Winschoter ziekenhuis krijgt 'wonderpleister'

WINSCHOTEN (ANP) - Het Lucas Ziekenhuis in Winschoten gaat als eerste ziekenhuis op het Europese vasteland gebruikmaken van een revolutionaire pleister, die lichaamsfuncties als hartslag, bloeddruk en temperatuur kan meten. Dat maakte het ziekenhuis woensdag bekend.

De pleister kan via een draadloze verbinding een melding afgeven aan een computer of mobiele telefoon, zodra een van de functies een afwijkende waarde geeft. Artsen kunnen daardoor snel op de situatie inspringen. Met de pleister hoopt het ziekenhuis onnodige lichamelijke schade of zelfs overlijden van de pati�nt te voorkomen.

Het Lucas Ziekenhuis begint na de zomer met een test van de pleister op de intensive care. Uiteindelijk moet de pleister worden gebruikt bij pati�nten die thuis verblijven.

KWIC Healthcare gaat de pleisters implementeren in het St,. Lucas.

Labeling bloodsamples

When taking samples from a patient, the barcode on the wristband is scanned.

The patient information is sent to the portable SATO MB printer that prints the label for the blood sample.

The blood sample now can be processed automaticly, preventing mixing up different samples from other patients.
